It is one of Dayne’s very favourites! And Great Taste Award Winning!
Described as “A well rounded, enjoyable coffee with earthy notes. An attractive coffee with plenty of flavour” by the expert judging panel at the prestigious Great Taste Awards.
Step into something completely different with our Monsoon Malabar – a bold, smooth, coffee with a story as unique as its flavour. This is one of the most distinctive coffees we offer at Acorns, perfect for those looking to move beyond the ordinary.
Part of our Intense Experience collection, this coffee delivers depth, smoothness, and a rich, lingering finish.
What Makes It Unique?
Monsoon Malabar undergoes a rare and traditional process found only in India. After harvest, the beans are exposed to monsoon winds and humid air over several months, causing them to swell, soften, and transform in colour and character.
This process dramatically reduces acidity while enhancing body and earthy complexity – creating a profile unlike any other coffee.
Tasting Notes
Dark Chocolate • Spice • Earthy
Expect a full-bodied, heavy cup with deep notes of dark chocolate and roasted nuts, layered with warming spice and a gentle earthy character. There’s very little acidity, creating a smooth, mellow profile that feels rich and rounded from start to finish.
Why You’ll Love It
If you find most coffees too acidic or sharp, Monsoon Malabar is a game changer. Its naturally low acidity and bold body make it incredibly easy to drink, especially for those who prefer a deeper, more traditional coffee profile.
If you enjoy strong, full-flavoured coffees from our Intense range, this is one to explore.
Brewing Suggestions
This coffee excels as a strong espresso or cafetière brew, where its body and intensity really come through. It also works well in milk-based drinks, cutting through with a rich, chocolatey depth.
From Farm to Cup
Grown along the Malabar Coast of India, this coffee reflects both its environment and its heritage processing method. The result is a bold, smooth, and unmistakable cup.
